Summary:
http://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/recent_comments is missing from http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/

Description:
The Recent Comments page (also known as "Manage Comments" at present) is a handy way to view and manage recent comments.

I feel it should go under the "Journal Entries" heading, as "Recent Comments", but am open to other suggestions.

Title:
Add "view my entries in this community" to post-entry-creation page for communities

Area:
community membership, workflow: entry posting

Summary:
When you successfully make an entry in a community, add the link to view the rest of your entries to the little menu.

Description:
There's a list of suggested/possible/common actions to take after posting an entry, and I noticed on a recent change, that for successful posting in a community, the "edit my entries" link was removed -- for good and sufficient reason, because making that specific link work with communities was basically just not on from a developer perspective.

Something that currently exists and is relevant is the http://community.dreamwidth.org/?poster=username link, which locates all of the users entries to that community.

It would not be particularly development-difficult to add this link to the list of common possibilities, and it could help drive discovery of that really fascinating and useful feature.

Also, if someone needed to edit their past entries to the community, the entries would be listed right there.

Title:
"Send Private Message" link should be on all site scheme pages.

Area:
site schemes

Summary:
For the sake of convenience, a link to the Private Message composer should be included on all site scheme pages. I hacked together an example of what I mean (which shows where I think the link should be): http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll128/marahstest/send_pm_link_on_all_site_scheme_pages.jpg

Description:
Sometimes when you're using Dreamwidth, you'd like to compose a private message, but the way it works now, the link to the Private message composer is not on the site scheme pages.

It's only directly available on the Profile page, and the link to that unfortunately only lets you compose a message to yourself (not that you can't change that once you're in there, but by default, it automatically links to you).

An example of what I mean by "including the link to compose a private message on all site scheme pages" is here (extra link is highlighted in yellow):
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll128/marahstest/send_pm_link_on_all_site_scheme_pages.jpg

Adding the compose private message link to all site scheme pages will allow Dreamwidth users to compose a message without having to hover over the "Read" links dropdown, or else click the "Inbox" link under their username on the site sheme pages, then click the "Inbox" link, then click the "New Message" button.

Three steps gone, now it just takes one!

It will also end Dreamwidth users taking the "shortcut" of clicking the PM link on their profile pages, then erasing their own names from the "To" field in order to compose a new message to another Dreamwidth user.

With the new link in place, composing messages will be speedier, easier, and less of a hassle.

The only drawbacks are the time and testing it will take for site devs to add the link to all site scheme pages and ensure it's working properly.

Poll #5517 "Send Private Message" link should be on all site scheme pages.

Summary:
http://www.dreamwidth.org/help should redirect to http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/

Description:
Along the lines of http://dw-suggestions.dreamwidth.org/320624.html , it is really confusing to get a 404 when accessing http://www.dreamwidth.org/help.

Summary:
Redirect visitors to http://www.dreamwidth.org/tos to the proper location, http://www.dreamwidth.org/legal/tos

Description:
People (ok, SporkyRat) keep going to /tos instead of /legal/tos. If this is a common mistake, it should redirect.

Architecture Astronaut Edition:
When someone with access to the server logs is bored enough, they should look through the 404s every few months to see which pages get commonly mis-entered, and look into making redirects, or otherwise changing things so the 404 hits go down.

Title:
change "Buy a Paid Account" link text to "Buy a Paid Account or DW Points"

Area:
shop

Summary:
the link "Buy a Paid Account" (first option in the "Shop" dropdown menu) is now inaccurately named, because it's also where you buy points; I think it should be renamed.

Description:
I recently spent a while repeatedly losing and trying again to find the page on which to buy points as a gift for a specified other account: <http://www.dreamwidth.org/shop/points?for=gift>. If I wanted to buy a specified amount of paid time for only one person on my circle, that's easily found under Shop--Circle Gifts, but if I want to buy for a number of people, or for someone not in my circle, the "points?for=gift" interface is the easiest place to do it. And it is confusingly accessible only by choosing Shop--Buy a Paid Account. I wasn't buying a paid account; I was deliberately buying unpackaged points instead of buying a paid account, so I kept not thinking to choose "Buy a Paid Account."

As a minimal fix, I suggest renaming that link "Buy a Paid Account or DW Points," which indicates that both options are accessible from there. Putting "Paid Account" first and using "or" makes the line less likely to confuse people who don't yet understand the points system, while giving full info to those who do.
