Title:
add an extra click before rejecting requested comm membership from email link
Area:
community management
Summary:
I think it would be better if the workflow for rejecting comm membership from the notification email was like the deletion of comments, i.e. requiring an extra confirmation after clicking on the link, because it is very easy to click that link, when you wanted to click the approve link.
Description:
I have a community with moderated membership. I got a notification that someone requested to join, and I wanted to click the "Approve" link, but I slipped with my touchpad somehow, and accidentally clicked the "Reject" link directly below.
I couldn't backtrack from that. The approve link didn't work anymore, and the reject link didn't ask to confirm like when you delete comments (which I also sometimes click accidentally when I want to reply).
Correcting my mistake was very awkward, because I had to message the requester that the reject was accidental and apologize, and then send an invitation for them to join. I would like it better if after clicking the reject link you'd have to click again on that page to make sure that it is really intended, like you do when deleting a comment.
The downside is that there would be an added click, making the process lengthier when you really want to reject someone, but IMO that would be a good trade off to avoid the extra effort that follows clicking the wrong link now.
