Title:
Implement LJ's Notes feature

Area:
User interface

Summary:
Implementing LJ's new notes feature, as described here and here.

Description:
Most of this has already been implemented in the open source version of LiveJournal and a bug for adding this feature is in our bug database already; the main reason for posting this is to gather feedback on what people like and do not like about the Notes feature, so that we can adjust LiveJournal's implementation to one that best serves Dreamwidth's users.

Title:
Spoiler short-cut

Area:
Entries

Summary:
Coding a html short-cut for having the same colour for background and text.

Description:
Requesting a html short-cut for spoiler text. That is, being able to mark up
SPOILER GOES HERE
(or something similar) and having it post with the same colour background as text so that the spoiler must be highlighted to be read.

A nifty version of the code exists, which I understand makes hiding spoilers in this way effective for people who use screen-reading software as well. The link for the code is: http://amadi.dreamwidth.org/40143.html

Thanks!

Title:
Support for ping.fm

Area:
Crossposting

Summary:
Would be great if DW supported (or documented how it already supports!) centralised content management using ping.fm.

Description:
The problem I'm solving is the one where I now have five blog accounts - two Dreamwidth, three Livejournal - plus Facebook and Twitter, and want a way to keep using DW as my main blogging host while managing the Hydra from a single central point. DW will automatically crosspost to LJ, but it's not designed to be a central content management portal for different platforms (and it shouldn't have to be).

Livejournal is already a ping.fm supported service, so I'm guessing it wouldn't be overwhelmingly hard to implement similar support in DW. It would be fantastic if DW could provide a custom URL for use with ping.fm as described in this page:

http://pingfm.pbworks.com/Help-With-Custom-URLs

Ping.fm also provide a Google group for developers working with custom URLs, here:

http://groups.google.com/group/pingfm-developers/web/working-with-a-custom-url

Of course in the case that the support is already there but undocumented, could I please request some documentation of it!
