Just as you can read all posts with a particular tag or a particular custom access group, it would be great to be able to see all posts with a particular icon.

Description:
This morning I found myself wondering, "which friend of mine was it who hadn't seen Singing in the Rain, and did we end up showing it to her at that one video-watching party, or not?" I'm pretty sure I listed all the things we watched at that party in my DW post about it, so I thought I'd go back and find it.

Problem: I probably tagged it "social" but I tag a lot of things "social". However, I *know* I would have used a certain icon (the one tagged "kegger") for a video party.

If I were able to go to all posts with a certain icon, eg. http://damned-colonial.dreamwidth.org/icon/kegger, I would find the post really quickly!

Also, I think it would just be fun to be able to "see all posts with this icon", especially when someone has that one icon that they always use when posting hilarious rants, or whatever.

The icons page should have "show all posts for this icon" (or something similar) as a link near each icon. Bonus points for showing a count of how many posts use that icon. At the top of the page, where it has "Upload order" and "Keyword order", add "Most used" as another sorting option. Added benefit: this would help you know which icons you hardly ever use, if you are coming close to your limit and need to triage.

Aye; and the ability in S" to make the link an icon generates on a post page go to all posts by that icon instead of to the icons page would also be good, I tend to use 'category' icons a lot, this sort of sorting would be useful.

a) be nice to make this private by default

b) I have slightly embarrassing icon usernames. *waits while everyone goes to look.* I would prefer to rename my icons without screwing up my old posts and comments before encouraging everyone to view by icon.

You can rename icons -- if you enter a new keyword, a box pops up to ask you if you want to change all the other uses of it :)
