Import entries from Scribbld.com

Title:
Import entries from Scribbld.com

Area:
import

Summary:
There is no option to import from scibbld.com

Description:
I have several accounts on Scribbld.com that I would like to import content from, but Dreamwidth doesn't seem to allow for this option (only livejournal and insanejournal). I could go through every entry and repost it to another account on dreamwidth, but that would be a tedious task. LJarchive doesn't work on my mac, and I've tried using it on someone else's PC, but for some reason it isn't functioning on there either because there's some component missing in the operating system or something.

In short, please see if you guys can find a way for us to import content from accounts on scribbld.com to dreamwidth.org. Thanks!

I'm all for having multiple import options, but this might be dependant on the scribbld admins making changes on their server, I think that you need to be running one of the later versions of the LJ code on the server in order to allow dreamwidth to import.

I did run the compatability test (okay, I had [personal profile] exor674 run the compatability test) before releasing the suggestion from the queue, fear not.

No real need for this

I was locked out of my FFN account by the latest site changes there, so instead of using any content import option, I'm simply copy/pasting my works from that site to this. Others could easily do the same if there's no import option for the other sites they use.

The benefit for a site-supported import option is to be able to bring over comments, too! (Also, to avoid having to copy & paste years' worth of posts.)

You make a good point, Denise. To be honest, I should have Googled Scribbld and found out it's not like FFN *before* I commented! Sorry.

It's very nice that this works so well for you.

As long as a LiveJournal-descended site meets certain technical criteria, it is relatively technically simple to add them as options to the importer.
