Quick way to view all styles

Title:
Quick way to view all styles

Area:
styles

Summary:
Add a page with a list of all "base" styles, with links to the filtered pages of all colour themes with that base style.

Description:
On http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/ there are now a fair number of styles, and there will be more soon. I know there is a plan to split them into sensible categories eventually. However, this feature would still be useful even when there are categories.

If you click on the name of the style - e.g. for "Green Basic Boxes by branchandroot", if you click on "Basic Boxes" - you see all the styles with that base and different colour themes. This is quite useful.

What I'd like to see, is a quick way of finding out a list of all the different bases, with a link for each one to that filtered page of different colour themes for each base. For instance, a quick glance now shows me "Basic Boxes", "Boxes and Borders", "Stepping Stones", "Modish", "Transmogrified", "Negatives", "Zesty", "Drifting", "ColorSide", "Blanket" and "Tabula Rasa", but I don't know if that's all of them or if there are some other base styles I haven't looked at.

(I'm not sure if "base" is the right term, but I hope it's clear what I mean.)

I'm thinking this can be done somewhat easily:

In the sidebar, where it says "Featured/All/Custom", add another one: "Bases" or "Base Layouts" or "Layout Base"? something like that -- need a good, clear name!

Clicking that would show you one of each of the base layouts (as you described), in the same grid style as the "Select Style" page. You could then click each of their names.

I think featured is currently performing the functiond desired by this suggestion, although that's probably not sustainable.

That doesn't give the visual preview, which I would think is very important to people who are just trying to pick their style for their very own journal, as opposed to learning more about the style system generally. (Also, it's in the advanced customization area, a place where many dare not go.)
