Navigation of Reading Circle Page

Title:
Navigation of Reading Circle Page

Area:
Site Navigation

Summary:
There should be buttons on the "Manage Circle" page allowing the user to go directly to Journals, Communities, or Feeds. There should also be an option to browse Communities or Feeds from the "Manage Circle" Page, and the "Find User" function should link here as well.

Description:
The "Manage Circle" page, depending on your subscriptions, can be huge, and the only way to get from here to there is by scrolling. When you get to where you're going, if you want to see what is available for you to add, whether it's a personal journal, a community, or a feed, you have to leave the page and go to the Directory to look them up (and I couldn't find a really simple way to find the Feeds at all, and it doesn't seem possible to search their subjects).

I think there should be buttons on the "Manage Circle" page that will let you skip directly to the subset of your subscriptions you want to look at -- Journals, Communities, Feeds -- and each of these sections should have a link to the Search/Find function, so you can add communities, search for feeds, or look up journals directly from that page.

Why? Because buttons letting you skip to specific sections of what can be a stunningly long page will make the "Manage Circle" page easier to navigate, and provide an alternative to scrolling. Being able to search for communities/feeds/journals to add to your Reading Circle in a one-stop one-click way would centralize these tools in an intuitive fashion, and make subscribing easier.

I definitely support the skip to specific sections (when implementing, possibly hide it for people with very short subscription lists, depending on how it looks).

I'm less sure about links to searching, as it could make the page look cluttered, and they can be found elsewhere.

(I also think it would be easier to see voting patterns if these suggestions were separated, but I don't know if there's an easy way to do that now they've been submitted as one.)

I agree that links to searching could make the page look cluttered, and part of the problem is that the page is so huge already. Skip to specific sections would be awesome, though - and if the links/buttons were always there regardless of size of list, no one would have to remember whether or not they could point someone towards said buttons/links.

I would think links might be a slightly better choice than buttons for accessability? Not sure if that matters, though. But some way to accomplish this besides scrolling would be good.

Instead of buttons, these should be links, and the links should be repeated between each section.

I don't think the additional search needs to be added. This is a sitepage schemed page, so search is already available on the page.

Am I the only one who has links to each section at the top of her Manage Circle page, or is it more a question of them not being adequate for people with longer lists?
