At the moment, what happens to comments left by a journal that was turned into a community? Anyone?

Why not have the entries marked as coming from the community, something I think has been discussed here and there already?

I think an option at conversion time, between that and first maintainer, would be ideal.

ETA: If this is implemented first, it could do first maintainer, then be adjusted if/when that's done to give the option.

I like that better than "first maintainer as OP." If the "can post as community" suggestion is implemented, I would want this suggestion to be implemented either later or at the same time.

This is my favorite option, but I'd like the original suggestion as well.

I would love this--the first use that came to mind for me is someone who had a separate journal for, let's say, posting fiction, but got tired of managing two accounts, and wants to convert the fiction-journal into a community-journal run by their primary handle.
