Different icon for official communities

Title:
Different icon for official communities

Area:
communities

Summary:
Change the userhead icon for official communities to one that looks official, like the ones for staff journals do.

Description:
Staff journals have a grey userhead with the DW swirl wrapped around it instead of the normal grey userhead. It would be good if official communities had the DW swirl over their blue-green circle, so they immediately look different from ordinary communities, as well as having dw_ at the start of their names.

I am swinging both ways on this. On the one hand, an immediate visual indicator would be sort of nice. On the other hand, the name of the community is DW_Comm, with the DW being assigned only to official communities.

Would it be better for changelog to have its name changed, instead?

Also, the official status of [site community profile] dreamscapes is unclear to me. It is being used to conduct official business (submission of layers), but is it official?

A visual indicator is a much better solution to me. I don't know that your average user is going to know that the dw_ prefix is reserved, and there have already been several exceptions noted.

Chose for it to be implemented as-is, but I'm not sure how image would look with the swirl over it! hopefully good, though *g*

Something like ? I'm not sure how you'd have it swirl 'behind' the globe, as the swirl and the globe are almost the same size, and DW probably doesn't want to increase the width/height of that icon, for formatting reasons...

Nevermind, I misread a preposition there. :)

(and please don't use that icon as the official if this goes live, it's a crappy GIMP sketch)

That is not good, not because it is not goodlooking, but because it is practically the same shape as the regular comm userhead. All of the userheads should have different shapes as well as different colors. (for color accessibility and for usability.)

If you say so. At 16x16, the difference between the user_staff icon and the community icon are already minimal, especially in grayscale.

Damn, you are right. We made sure that the user icon and the user_staff icon had different shapes, but weren't really looking at user_staff vs community. :(
