Create "most recent post from each friend" view

Title:
Create "most recent post from each friend" view

Area:
reading

Summary:
Recently, I was reading my reading list, and wondered how long it had been since a particular friend had posted something. I wished for a view that would show me the single most recent post from each friend

Description:
I recently was curious how long it had been since someone I knew posted. I went to their journal to find out. While I was doing that it occurred to me that there might be some utility in a page like the reading page, but that just showed the single most recent post from each friend (presumably in the same reverse-chronological order the regular reading page does now).

Ideally one could view any filter in this way as well, to allow the user to winnow out all the communities, feeds, etc. Maybe some sort of button on the reading page to switch to "single most recent mode"?

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I deal with this issue by simply going to my 'manage circle' page, which tells you how many weeks (or days) it's been since someone has posted. You can just CTRL+F to find the specific username you're looking for, to check the last time they posted.

For several dozen friends (or several hundred), that gets hard to check. I would love a way to see "most recent by every person" without all the extras by regular posters.

My suggested change is, if the most-recent entry is their sticky (and possibly if it is dated out of order) then the next-most-recent-entry should be used. Or else go by server-time rather than calendar time, and get the actual most-recently-posted rather than most-recently-dated.

Excellent point.

Again, maybe the calendar page could have this kind of link.
