I'd like to see (even part of) the Dreamwidth entry's own subject line in the Take a look at this Dreamwidth entry e-mail's subject. "Take a look at this Dreamwidth entry" is rather generic especially when one gets more than one.

What is the 'look at this' function? Don't think I've ever used it.

I think they mean the 'Tell someone about this' thingy - it's in the pink box above, with the letter and chain symbol.

Yes, that's the one. Share? Tell? I pretty much just think of it as "click that icon and then that sort of e-mail sends"...

Heh, it's actual name is "Tell someone about this!" or tell a friend, but I've never ever used it (and am technically working on a replacement for it, which automatically does what you suggest).

So I'm very up for improving the current one until such time as the better one comes in, which'll likely take awhile (beta version on my journal, it has lots of icons to lots of different ways you can tell someone, but is nowhere near finished yet).

I'm laughing because I'm 2 out of 3 on that; never used it, never will; but I have nothing against it, so I'm definitely in favor of the change. :)

Perhaps even with the username and entry ID in the subject, the better to fish through one's email with.

Now that I know what it is, I tried it to see what it does.

Um, what an awful clunky interface. Assuming we do go with some version of Share This that isn't Share This<sup>tm, one of the needed options will be a 'send an email', and that...

Really doesn't do the job.

So my 'with changes': completely rewrite the task flow of the 'email this'/'tell a friend' function and allow a lot more customisale text, up to and including removing all of the generic text that has to be there as, frankly, it's Not Very Good.

I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done to make it better, but I know that isn't good, will happily work with anyone else that wants to do the coding side to sort the taskflow and text out if anyone volunteers.</sup>

My "implement with changes" is to improve the system as it is and to include more information than just the subject of the entry. I didn't even know the feature existed, but based on comments, it seems pretty bad. XD
