ordered lists (
) not rendered correctly in comment reply preview

Title:
ordered lists (<ol>) not rendered correctly in comment reply preview

Area:
comments

Summary:
Ordered lists seemed to be rendered as regular bullet lists in comment reply previews.

Description:
I used an <ol> ... </ol> construction in a comment reply tonight, and the preview showed only small bullet points for each list item. (I was trying to get the total number to finish the point I was making, as well as trying to see what the final output would look like.)

When I did submit the reply, it rendered correctly in the view of all comments on the entry.

Reply in question: http://flemco.dreamwidth.org/3785826.html?thread=50847330#cmt50847330

Thanks!

I reproduced this bug in comment preview, too.

It works in Celery, which means it's most likely a problem with CSS. Someone probably gave a list-style-type:bullet to ol in some CSS.

Ignore me, I lack reading comprehension, today :/

I know you said "ignore" me, but...

Just out of curiosity (don't mind me - I'm like this all the time, I promise), did Celery = Celerity or just a journal style used here? I use Tropospherical Red and wonder if switching site schemes would actually solve the problem, or if it's hard-coded into all site skins.

Sorry about the delay, the notification had slipped down in my inbox.

Yes, switching to Celerity makes it work (and yes, Celery = Celerity; I was severely brain-dead, apparently).

Found it! It's the padding applying to ol that's hiding the numbers behind the margin or something. You can get the numbers by applying a padding-left to ol :)

That's why I asked - I thought you might be on to something. I'm glad you found what's causing it. :)
