If you ask to receive a copy of a PM you send someone else, your copy should have a more informative subject line than it currently does.

Description:
I love the fact that I can ask to receive a copy of a PM I send to someone; I always want to keep a copy of my own correspondence. When my copy arrives in my inbox, however, it has the extremely uninformative subject line "the_shoshanna sent you a message." I think copies of messages I send someone else should have the subject line "you sent someone_else a message." (Where "someone_else" is the username in question, of course.) That would make it much easier to scan my email folder and find what I'm looking for.

I can't see any drawbacks to this; I suppose being able to see both the recipient of the message I sent and the subject line of the message itself would be even better, but even seeing just the recipient is definitely better than the current version.

I think a copy should be an exact copy, including the subject line. When I want to see what I wrote to whom, I look in my sent messages folder.

I think this is talking about the email notification, not how it shows in your sent box on the website.

I would like the email copy to be an exact copy. If there's no subject line on the message it's fine with me if it says "you sent a message to username", but if there is a subject line, then I would want the copy to have that same subject line.

Unless the subject line of the message is in the body of the email, then I agree with the suggestion.

When I get the emails, the subject line is always just "so-and-so sent you a message" - the subject line of the message is in the body of the emails. So I just get "cesy sent you a message" as the subject, and no way of telling who I sent the message to.

Thank you for explaining! I'm going to change my vote, then, because then I do agree with the suggestion.
