Title:
Index for /security/
Area:
entries
Summary:
Add an index page for /security/
Description:
You can go to http://exampleusername.dreamwidth.org/security/friends to view just the access-only entries that person has made, or http://exampleusername.dreamwidth.org/security/group:ExampleCustomGroup similarly, or http://exampleusername.dreamwidth.org/security/public. Could a page be added to http://exampleusername.dreamwidth.org/security/ with a list of these, rather than the current 404 error?

A list of these might be problematic for security reasons (though maybe even the current system is)? You normally don't know which Custom Groups you are on and shouldn't be able to determine when you are removed from one group, in my opinion. But something else than a 404 error would be very good.

(Anonymous) 2009-07-29 10:41 am (UTC)(link)I see what you mean about security - I had been assuming it was only visible to the journal owner, but I don't know if any of those pages work on other people's journals as well. Either way, what's possible should be made clear, instead of a 404 error, and if it is currently showing too much to other people, then that would also need changing.

/security/public
/security/access for everyone on your access list.
And only for yourself:
/security/group:ExampleCustomGroup (either a list of groups or an example of the syntax)
/security/private

(And I also didn't know about this feature! Neato.)

(I didn't know, either. That'll be quite useful with catching up.)

This is a feature I use on LJ a lot for organizing my f'list, and I know it was 'broken' when DW split the access/read 'stuff', so maybe it's 'coming soon'?
Just my thinky thoughts - totally love the idea b/c it's something I already use else-web. =)

I was just thinking that we should still be able to read by 'access filter' - though I'm not sure how useful that is.
