The suggestions post

Soon (for certain values of 'soon'), there will be a "suggestions generator", where you fill out forms and it will post an entry to this community for you, for discussion and the like.

Until then, if you've got something you'd like to suggest for Dreamwidth, you can leave it as a comment here! You can review our development roadmap explanation first, since it includes a lot of our upcoming big projects.

Well I didnt think it would happen soon. I was meaning when DW got bigger and was open to the public.

Basically you had a link that said Testimonials. click it and it took you to a page that showed all the testimonials you have. You get the option of approving them/deleting them/allowing them to be views publicly. Below that, you see your friends list all listed below, each one able to be clicked. Clicking it, you can leave a testimonial for that person. If the person is bolded, it means you left a testimonial for them already.
Also, the testimonial could be edited at anytime but the one you're leaving it for has to approve it each time its edited.

It was a nifty feature to have. A lot of us GJers miss it.

Do you know if the GJ source code was ever released anywhere, or do you have any contacts among the developers or staff? Rewriting the feature from scratch could take a while, but if someone has a copy of the code and it's open-source, adding it might be fairly easy. It sounds like the kind of feature that would be nice to have, no-one would object to, it would just take developer time (which we don't have much of).

I'm not sure. the owners of GJ let GJ die and really kinda didn't give a hoot about the site anymore and soon got rid of it, much to our dismay.
I could ask around though and see what I can find.

IIRC, they did it by plugging in some other open-source module, and it was a pretty halfassed integration.
