Soon (for certain values of 'soon'), there will be a "suggestions generator", where you fill out forms and it will post an entry to this community for you, for discussion and the like.

Until then, if you've got something you'd like to suggest for Dreamwidth, you can leave it as a comment here! You can review our development roadmap explanation first, since it includes a lot of our upcoming big projects.

Yes, I've read that. The problem is that my LJ password is the key not just to my locked posts, but to locked posts that belong to various friends and communities, some of whom would take it as a breach of trust for me to give that access to someone else.

May I ask why this request offends your sensibilities?

I'm not annoyed, I was just confused as to why you found it worth arguing with.

I don't expect it to be at the top of anyone's priority queue any time soon, but I think it's technically quite feasible, and there are people I think would appreciate it, if only as a gesture. (It's probably well with my ability to code given the current import code to work with, but a bit more of a reach than I'd want to leap in with -- and obviously it hasn't passed muster with the staff yet, and I don't know if it will.)
