Adult content filters are still available on Dreamwidth, because they do serve a useful purpose, but in much modified form:
* The system is entirely voluntary. No one else can flag your entries or force your entries to be flagged adult
* The names of the levels have been changed, from "adult explicit" and "adult content", to 18+ and 14+ (though I think that they're eventually going to be renamed to 18+ and some variant of NSFW)
* You can give a reason for why you're flagging your journal/entry as adult, and it will show up on the interstitial page
Combined, I think that all three changes make the system neutral and useful, instead of creepy and policing.

Hey, there's no guarantee that people will filter all the interesting stuff ;-))

Actually, I don't really have a problem, per se, with people filtering posts or even communities. That's a choice made to protect the content and the writers themselves that I can understand. My main problem with the filters is when people set entire private journals to adult content. That irks me.
And I actually really like that there's an option to give a reason for flagging it.

I've always been against the reporting part against the filters.
I'm not happy with the filters still being around, but not being able to police is an acceptable compromise (and I'll even be happy with it, since it's not such a big deal, and more especially since it's going into a NSFW).
I also feel that there shouldn't be an ability to report someone one your friends list (a post of theirs, their journal, whatever). Simply because if something they did offended you WHY DON'T YOU JUST USE COMMON SENSE AND UNFRIEND THEM?! That's what pissed me off the most about strike through.

What's inter-whatsit page? And where?
About the reason (since there's no FAQ yet), which is optimal to use: keyword or sentence?
I thought it was like the interest box which uses keywords.

I think that a sentence looks better.
