Bullet-point response to obligatory get rid of adult content filters post.
Adult content filters are still available on Dreamwidth, because they do serve a useful purpose, but in much modified form:
* The system is entirely voluntary. No one else can flag your entries or force your entries to be flagged adult
* The names of the levels have been changed, from "adult explicit" and "adult content", to 18+ and 14+ (though I think that they're eventually going to be renamed to 18+ and some variant of NSFW)
* You can give a reason for why you're flagging your journal/entry as adult, and it will show up on the interstitial page
Combined, I think that all three changes make the system neutral and useful, instead of creepy and policing.
