List subscribers on feed profile pages

Title:
List subscribers on feed profile pages

Area:
Profile

Summary:
Currently, only the number of subscribers to a feed is listed on the feed's profile page. I would like to have a list of accounts added to that.

Description:
Maybe there is a good reason why subscribers are listed on personal, identity, and community profiles, but not on feeds, but I have no idea what that reason could be.

Basically, for some feeds I think it would just be nice to see who else is subscribed to them. These people might share the same interests etc. So I propose adding that part of the profile.

Poll #2473 List subscribers on feed profile pages

I would be okay with this if there was an opt-out feature for it as well. I may be okay with people knowing that I'm reading cakewrecks_feed but may not want people to know about my all-encompassing, passionate love for the Obamas. :D

It's already possible to see who subscribes to a feed by using the directory, so it would make sense to make it more readily available, yes.

Ooh, how? I'm always curious as to who are the one or two or three other people who share my love for a little-known feed.

I can't hide them but it would require someone coming to my page to find out about my love for the Obamas. That is such a bad hypothetical example that it probably doesn't make sense to use it. After all, having a crush on the president is a time-honored tradition in this country. Insert something that someone might feel uncomfortable with people knowing here instead. :D

I'm not real comfortable being listed on community subscribers' lists either but I suck it up and deal. My first reaction to the idea of doubling that exposure was "eeek!" I'd like to ideally be able to block my name from that list myself.

Go to the directory search (under the explore menu), put the username of the feed account into the "People subscribed to" box, and then hit search.

Two more reasons to want this:

When random-but-awesome feeds show up on my Network page, I'd like to be able to see which of my circle found them for me.

When I'm trying to see who is reading my journals on other sites through the feed on DW, so I'll know to what extent I need to duplicate information.

(It's good to know I can use directory, though, yay!)

Does banning the feed not hide it?

The easy way to get around being a visible subscriber of anything is to create a new account, subscribe there, and read that account's reading page. Only works for public posts, but all feeds are public, so no problem there.

This brings up a meta-issue, which is privacy and perceptions thereof. Some way of indicating (subtle highlighting maybe?) what's public on the Edit Profile page would clarify things a bit.

This should work for LJ too, btw, if you're a Paid user and have access to the Directory.
