Allow community moderators to add note when accepting a post
Title:
Allow community moderators to add note when accepting a post
Area:
community management
Summary:
When a community has moderated posting, a moderator who is rejecting a post from queue can add information to the notification explaining why. I would like to also be able to add information to the notification when approving a post.
Description:
I like being able to privately explain why a post was rejected from the community's moderation queue, which is currently done by a text box on the confirmation page.
However, frequently there is a post I would like to approve that also has a small issue I'd like to notify the poster of as soon as possible. Most often it's a minor HTML or markup error; sometimes it's requesting the OP add tags or a post title or a cut on multimedia, etc.
Currently, moderators will most often take care of this by leaving a comment on the entry after it has posted. I'd prefer to be able to make it part of the notification - it's more private, it's more "official", and it will save time and pageclicks, especially when approving a lot of entries at once.
Since this is already available when rejecting a submission, it shouldn't be that difficult to also make it available when approving. And of course any moderator could simply choose not to use it.
