crossposting: different crossposting settings & messages for different filters?

Title:
crossposting: different crossposting settings & messages for different filters?

Area:
crossposting

Summary:
Sometimes I want to have different crossposting settings (e.g. enabling or disabling of comments) and crosspost-text for crossposting to the same site but to different filters. That, or a way to pick different settings on a per-post basis through checkboxes.

Description:
Hello! I really love the cross-posting functionality, but have found that (in cross-posting to the same site--in my case, LJ) sometimes I want to have different settings and corresponding messages (e.g. "Please comment at DW via OpenID" vs. "You can comment at DW or here, take your pick"). Currently, I cross-post, the default message and settings show up at LJ, and then I have to go in and edit the settings and message at LJ. That's not too bad, but the problem then is that if I have to edit the post, the crossposter resets the message and settings, and then I have to go in and edit them again.

I don't know if it's technically easy or feasible, but what I was thinking of was either having a way to have different crosspost settings (comments enabled or disabled, etc.) for each filter, so that the crossposter at DW would automatically handle that, or even (perhaps in addition) a way to override the crosspost settings with a menu of crosspost options (Option A might have disabled comments, Option B might enable them but have one message, Option C might enable them and have a different message from B) that you could choose from a drop-down menu when you make a cross-posted post. I could see the combination of the two possibilities mentioned above getting confusing, so maybe it might just be best to have one or the other. (I personally prefer the filter option, but maybe other people would like the ability to choose their crosspost messages &c. on the fly.)

I can't think of other ways this might work, but I might be overlooking something. I'm not married to the particular implementations described above. I'm mostly interested in getting the functionality of having different settings for different posts.

Thank you so much!--YHL

This, please. I picked "implemented as-is" because I don't have a strong opinion about how exactly it should work, but I would love to be able to have different settings for crossposting public or locked entries.

Definitely not based on what filter to use--some of us don't use posting filters (at all), and I definitely don't want to have to manage filters on two sites, one is a big enough PITA.

However, a way of storing multiple crosspost texts and selecting them (perhaps in a similar way to icons?) would be good.

Even having it as a paid feature would work (and fit into the current plan of having everything available to all with different limits, free users get one, etc)

So that's my 'with changes' suggestion

I would LOVE to have a small set of crosspost texts. For instance, when I've disabled comments on a post, I like to be able to choose crosspost text that's appropriate for posts that readers can't comment on. Right now, having only one crosspost text, the LJ post always has the option to comment at DW -- I don't want to turn that off, but I hate misleading users to think that maybe they can comment at DW when they can't.
