Multiple stickies

Title:
Multiple stickies

Area:
account management?

Summary:
Simply an option to have more than one sticky entry - maybe up to 5 or so?

Description:
I absolutely love the new sticky feature, but it would be nice to be able to have two or three posts as stickies.
While at the moment, you could try to throw everything important into one post, separating them out into entries would be more organized. And as someone mentioned to me before, it's also possible to have a sticky entry with links to other important entries. However, that still requires a user to click through to another entry to see that content, and if they don't, it will get missed.

I could see this being implemented in one of two ways:
1) Just as it is now, with the user typing multiple post numbers in the sticky box, separated by commas.

2) Multiple sticky boxes - 1, 2, 3, etc., so that you could have the stickies in the order you want them at the top, no matter what order they were posted in the journal.

my vote is for #1. (PS. think there's a mis-word there, though. separated by commas, maybe?)

I think it could, quite easily (maybe even a bit more easily than having multiple textboxes *g* or just about the same)

With voting for yes, I am agreeing to code this? Y/Y?

Anyway, I am also for 1, however that will mean that the number of entries is limited, if only by how long the box is. But this should really not be a problem, unless people want more than ten or so.

I like the multiple boxes idea, to allow for order and also to state explicitly in a way that someone cannot miss, exactly how many are allowed. Also more fair to people who have not discovered the sticky until later in their posting history, so they have longer entry IDs rather than the coveted 3 or 4 digit ones.

This--I imported 4 years of LJ, short post numbers don't exist for me (could always edit my first few posts I guess but that wouldn't be ideal)

One problem I see with this is possibly turn off the sticky entries if you aren't on the first page -- because otherwise you'd have to scroll back past tons of entries if you were reading back in somebodies journal.

They already don't show on skip pages :)

Already current behavior; sticky entries only show up on the first page of recent entries.

My vote would be for #2 -- mostly for the possibility of having RP journals here. They often have an IC and and OOC contact post up top, and having to repost them to get them in order would be a pain.

I really like this because I'd like to have different stickies for access only than for public!

Sort of a "If you can read this, you're on my Foobar filter?" post? Interesting idea.
