Add ability to add a Memory without leaving the page
Title:
Add ability to add a Memory without leaving the page
Area:
memories
Summary:
Adding an entry to Memories is complicated. It should be easier.
Description:
What I propose is, when you click on the heart button to add an entry to your Memories, a box could pop up on the page for you to select a title and the labels for the Memory. If your browser doesn't support this, the code can degrade gracefully by taking you to the Add Memory page that currently exists.
This would make it less of a hassle to add Memories, since right now you have to go to another page, add the Memory, and then it takes you to a page that lists a bunch of other options like "go back to the entry", "view all your memorable entries", etc. Too many clicks, in my opinion.

I was under the impression, however, that Memories was going to get a complete overhaul? (I don't know why that is a pervasive thought of mine - it might just be wishful thinking.)

Yes, overhauling memories is something we still want to do, and I believe
allen has some of the backend done, even, but like many of our other major projects, it wound up being way more complicated than we'd expected and we had to pause and do a lot of technical cleanup first. :)

(But I also don't begrudge people who would like some kind of stop-gap measure in the meantime, so. This suggestion still gets a vague up-vote from me.)

It's basically a ground-up redesign, so many things will be different, yeah.
