The landing page after a user posts an entry should have more information on it. Right now, it says the following:
Your update was successful. View your updated journal.

Now that you've posted, you can:

View the entry
Edit the entry
Add the entry to your memories
Edit this entry's tags

It would be better if it said, "Your journal has been updated with the entry titled, 'Suggestions.' It will be posted access-only, the icon tagged, 'D on Yarn' was used, and it was tagged with the following tags:"

Or something along those lines. I usually double-check my entry after posting for those few things, and it'd be nice if I didn't have to do an extra click to make that happen.

Drawbacks: It will put more information on the page, and while I personally find that to be a good thing, I'm not sure everyone will. Also, it is possible that it could cause first-page syndrome, depending on the length of some of the variables. It shouldn't on my netbook, but it could on a mobile device.

What's first-page syndrome?

The only reference I could find was getting the wrong idea about an author's work due to only reading the first page of something (book, blog etc). Maybe the OP means someone would miss important information because including all this could make it long enough they would not get it all on one screen, and would only see the "first page" due to not scrolling down?

It would definitely be nice to have the security of an entry confirmed, at the very least.

I am up for having the security level mentioned, and maybe the entry's subject line, but I feel like the rest is not as crucial.

+1 for security. I wouldn't care about having the rest on that page and it would be too much info for me.

I'm always going to go look at my updated journal anyway, because 1) I need to check that any cuts worked properly, and 2) I always see typos only after the thing is posted.

I'm concerned that the info suggested might be too much, so I tentatively agree that the only really important thing here is the security level.

The commas after "titled" and "tagged" need to go *g*

My gratuitous, use of the rare, and also endangered, comma, is not to be, questioned. They're not used enough, so I use them extra. *g*
