The other thing we can do is publicise the gift a random user feature

The thing is, though, that it is a *random* user--it doesn't select for "people who are curious to try out a paid account." (Don't get me wrong, I love the "gift a random user" feature, I just don't think it quite solves the problem here.) I suppose maybe a comm like dw_codesharing could be created for people who want to try out paid accounts to make themselves known? I don't think that's an ideal solution--a person could post again and again asking for paid time--but it's one thought. *shrug*
