Include title of entry in comment notifications in Inbox
Title:
Include title of entry in comment notifications in Inbox
Area:
inbox, notifications, comments
Summary:
To include the title of an entry - or, if there isn't one, the identifier - in comment notifications in the inbox
Description:
Email notifications for comments now include an entry identifier, but in the inbox, it doesn't show which entry a comment is on. If the comment has a subject, the inbox header looks like this:
New [link]comment "title of comment" by [icon]name on [link]an entry in [icon]journal-or-community;
but most comments are (No subject).
If I hover on the link "an entry", I can see the entry number, but that's not very informative. If the post has a title, I would like to see it in the notification, and if not, making the number part of the text (as in email notifications) would make it easier to read.
If "vigorous debate" is ongoing in more than one post in someone's journal, I think this would help with comment wrangling. I don't have that much traffic, but I would find it useful to have an indication of which suggestions post someone is talking about.
Drawbacks: I don't know how easy it is to find the title to put in the message.
