Add more options to ratings on subscription filters

Title:
Add more options to ratings on subscription filters

Area:
subscription filters

Summary:
Have extra options for catching up on NSFW stuff when you get home from work.

Description:
If I can create a filter of "safe for work posts" (which is very useful, thank you), I will probably then want to create a corresponding filter of "not safe for work posts", to catch up on the stuff I missed when I get home. Could other options be added to the rating drop-down?

So, as well as the current options of:
All
Safe or non-explicit
Safe for work only

You would also have:
Explicit
Explicit or not-safe-for-work

Where is that rating drop.down you mention? I don't see anything like that when I go to the Manage Subscription Filters page?

I have a paid account, it just never occurred to me to click on names on the right side. I choose them on the left, clicked the "Add" button and never saw the stuff coming up when you click on the other side, as that is not needed to add them to the filter and there was no indication that extra functionality was there. I made two filter earlier today, and never came accross this new stuff while using the interface. That is somewhat of a design flaw, IMO. There should be a hint that you can do more.

I concur; indeed, I clicked through to read comments on this post in the specific hope that something in them would explain where the options described in the post are! I look forward to an official announcement and documentation of the reading filters (that's not meant to be sarcastic; I do understand that we're watching them come into being, and things are still in development).

I basically think there should be a 'not/reverse' option for everything on these filters.

That would be a killer upgrade for reading filters!

Very much so. You should be able to create a new filter by preforming operations on another filter or filters.

Imagine:

Filters:
Comics
Close
Friends

operations:
Create: a filter of every post -not- in any of the above filters.
Create: a filter of Friends + Close without duplication.
Concat: (not)(Comics+Close+Friends)+Friends; the result is the new Friends.

You'd want to separate "invert inclusion list", "invert tags", and "invert ratings" -- as they have different purposes.
