Subscriptions filters: create a module for them

Title:
Subscriptions filters: create a module for them

Area:
S2, layouts

Summary:
Create a module that would display subscriptions, the way navigation links or custom links can be displayed.

Description:
As some people may have a lot of filters, either set a limit or let people display the first x ones (like for tags).

I'm with [personal profile] turlough on the option to make it private; I'd add, though, that I'd like it to default to private. I wouldn't want anyone on my reading list seeing what filters I have (a lot of hurt feelings can be caused through filters going public, and unless you name them only by number or some unconnected name to their function, there would be clues in the name as to who would be on, someone might wonder if they're on such-and-such one, &c &c) and if I changed my layout to one with a filters module, I'd have to go through the wizard to set the privacy options and I might not be able to do that before someone sees the list and assumes/wonders/becomes paranoid/&c about the content of the filters. These concerns are not everyone's! I'm all for being able to toggle whether they're public, private, or -- I'd love this option too -- viewable only by subscription list, or even one or more posting filters. I'd just feel a lot better about this feature if it defaulted to private, so anyone making a change right before their internet drops out or something (and who worries, like I do, about potential drama :/) can feel safe knowing that they didn't reveal who they could be reading and not reading. I hope that made sense :)

That's a good point. I agree that the default should be private.

So long as it only shows Public Filters (I'm not even sure if DW is going to implement this functionality), I don't have a problem with it showing them. Otherwise, your suggestion is the only way to keep the drama llamas at bay.
