Ah, that makes sense. I wonder if it would make sense to scrap the more barebones API and repurpose the import API to also do Dreamwidth exports, or if that would be more trouble than it's worth. It would be cool if both import and export were done from the same place, especially if there are any future plans for allowing people (possibly just paid users) to import from a Dreamwidth backup, import selectively from a backup, etc etc.
