I'd like to see the ability to linkback within the post, I fairly regularly do a "in response to this post" style post, and if it's public, letting me automatethat linkback slightly would be good.
Definitely wouldn't want to post links to locked posts, that's Just Wrong, but I regularly link to public posts and frequently respond to them. (well, I used to when I was posting a lot but...).
