Yeah, that's precisely half of it -- the other half is that LJ doesn't export that data in any machine-readable format, so we'd have to screenscrape LJ to get it, and screenscraping = Bad (and leads to getting banned).

If we can figure out a way around the screenscraping thing, or figure out some way to do it lightly, what we'll probably do is grab the list, parse it into a nice bunch of categorized links, and post that as a private entry to your journal, tagged "imported memories" or something. But we have to figure out a way around the screenscraping thing first.
