This is an issue I had more on LJ than here on Dreamwidth, but the writing community I was a part of was not actually a critique community, though several of the members did offer critiques to each other. (I realize that there are crit-specific communities on Dreamwidth, although atm, I can't recall if they're public-entry or not - And I definitely do not want my writing entries to be completely public).

What I would like to be able to do from time to time, is post the entry in my writing journal, and mention in the community that I'm looking for critiques and link to it, rather than posting to the community. More of a: "I've been here talking about such and such story I'm writing, and I'd love it if any of you would read and give me feedback" to the community, and anyone from the community, whether or not you've friended them, could hop over and actually be able to read it and give you feedback.
