My understanding is that location metadata is a separate field, it isn't the same as the Caption/Comment field, so it wouldn't be put into the description in the first place. As for reviewing the metadata, that was part of the original suggestion: that the description form should be pre-filled from the meta-data, but it wouldn't "go live" until the user saved the form.
